When Leader of the Council, Cllr Chris Robbins was elected in May this year he announced that improving the street scene was a key priority. Cllr Robbins quickly called for a review of street cleansing and some initial improvements because residents were not satisfied that streets were getting cleaned properly.
The Leader welcomed this week’s Cabinet decision to invest £517,138 per annum to improve the clearance of street waste and fly tips on main roads.
Cllr Robbins said:
“I would like to congratulate Cllr Bob Belam and officers for putting this report together.”
Chris Robbins added:
“The issue of street cleansing continues to remain a top priority and I will be discussing with colleagues our key objective of improving the street scene in Waltham Forest.”
Chris Robbins is expecting implementation of the Cabinet decision and investment within the next few weeks.
